How Does A Water Ionizer Work?

The ionization process begins with conventional water from your faucet going through two multi-stage filters where it is filtered to 99.99% purity. The first filter is an active carbon filter and the second filter is a ceramic based filter that pre-ionizes the water before moving on to the actual electrolysis chamber. Some manufacturers suggest you buy a pre-ionizer since their models do not have this capacity. Because of this pre-ionization, Tyent produces higher pH and ORP levels than the competition.

Next, water goes to the ionization chamber where the water flows over seven (7070 or nine (9090 and 9000T) platinum-coated solid mesh titanium electrodes where electrolysis then takes place. (This platinum-coated titanium mesh surface is the largest in the industry.) Simply, ionization means to gain or lose an electron. This process takes place in the ionization chamber where water is run over positive and negative electrodes, then producing two kinds of water: alkaline and acidic. Positive ions are drawn to the negative electrodes and produce alkaline water, and negative ions are drawn to the positive electrodes and produce acidic water. Alkaline water has a higher pH (above 7.2 pH)and is taken internally for better health. Acidic water has a lower pH (below 6.9 pH) and is used for external purposes only, like cleaning and disinfecting, washing your face and hair, sterilizing burns, and much more.
